one visiting Cyprus should leave the island
or its people without trying some of our Native
Dishes.
We specialize in "MEZEDES" (MEZE)
and also like to think that not only do we provide
the best Meze in Paphos, but more Courses than
any other Restaurant in Cyprus (We presently
supply 24 courses).
Those about to sample their first MEZE are advised
to take a fairly lengthy time to eat their way
through the Numerous Courses. It is better to
try small portions of each Course rather than
eat too much of early Courses and be unable
to attempt the final selections. Should you
wish a short break between some of the Courses,
simply inform the waiter. By so doing you will
avoid any Course being cold or overcooked. MEZE
is normally taken by two or more people, there
fore is all the more enjoyed in good company.
For those wishing to know little more, MEZE
is literally the Greek aword for "Mixture"
and consists of a great variety of hot, warm
and Appetisers or Hors D'Oeuvres or Starters,
which in themselves constitute a full meal.
The Courses of Meat, Fish, Vegetable with accompanying
dips, filling or seasoning, are prepared or
cooked with great care and attention in Traditional
Cypriot Ways.
It is impossible to list all the Courses which
could be included in MEZE as each establishment
guards its own ingredients and cooking methods
in the same way as Master Chefs in great Hotels
and Restaurant throughourt the world. |
